yank_eh: Very cool! The dancing an old tradition from South Africa, started among black mine workers who had to wear gumboots in the tunnels where they worked. (Well, still work.) There are even recordings of music with gumboot-slapping as percussion. And there was a show (available on DVD), called Gumboots (natch). It's a lot of fun.

I've changed the name of this thread from "Need a pair of boots" to "The Textile Arts" . . .

Here are some animated dresses which appear to be from some MIT students. They claim that the dresses

" . . . are a personal and poetic extension. They are expressive behavioral kinetic sculptures."
