So it is official that this will be showing by August of 2007. I hadn't the slightest clue how they would turn this book, which features a much older Jason Bourne, into a film that lives up to the first two. This article gives a few hints, the most important of which is that "It’s a new story, completely different from the novel." (Which is good, as it is much weaker than the first two Bourne novels.) More news on the script at the always interesting Latino Review site.

This is all great news. Greengrass has been adept at rooting the good bits out of Ludlum's massive storylines and making highly watchable action flicks out of them. I am willing to wager that Bourne Ultimatum will be far better than the book that loosely inspires it.

I hate to do this, since yours is the first substantial post on the subject, but... well... if I don't somebody else will... ahem.

Has Greengrass done any Ludlum adaptations besides The Bourne Supremacy? (The first Bourne film was Doug Liman, not Greengrass.)
