I'm guessing this would be the best place for this (since there's not a Shameless Self Promotion forum).

culture.ish is an independent grant-funded periodical that is loosely tied to Geneva College (it's run be Geneva alum/staff/faculty/grad students, with some writing done by undergrad students). It's published weekly. Last year was our first year, and we learned a lot. We even organized a concert at the college near the end of the spring semester (Rachel Zylstra, Over the Rhine and David Bazan).

We just published the first issue for the new school year, and I'm excited. There are some things we can improve upon, but hey--it's a learning process for all of us.

Check out the first issue.

The content from the new issue is up on our site here, featuring a short interview I did with Jeffrey Overstreet.

The newest issue of culture.ish. is up. A few record reviews (Mae, Midlake, Josh Ritter, Buffalo Tom...guess which one I wrote), a movie review (Perfume), some other stuff. Give it a look-see.

We took a hiatus because of the students' finals and the Christmas holiday. A new issue (featuring a review of Auralia's Colors, I believe) will hopefully be up soon.

In the meantime, some of the reviews from the last few issues are up here, including one of the Golden Compass (with obligatory links to Jeffrey's Q&A).

You can also look at .pdfs of the past print copies here.
