Scratch the surface and you’ll discover something else. “Reaper” might be the most faith-based show to come along since “Touched by an Angel” … and not nearly as mawkish.
I just finished watching it--directed by Kevin Smith.
It's probably Smith's most faith-informed work, excluding Dogma. Actually, this could pretty well be described as Dogma meets Clerks meets Buffy. A very promising start, but let's see where they take it. One of the nice things about it was how little Smith relied on special effects, instead letting his characters fill the gaps. Season pass.

Alan mentions in a post on the 2007 TV thread that there must be a lot of disappointed fans of Dead Like Me out there...and speaking of DLM, did anyone else notice "Dolores Herbig" behind the DMV window? Possibly a casting shout-out, what with the "reaper" connection and all?

YES! I did notice that. Good to see her again. I suppose she'll be a regular?

So far I've only seen 2 episodes, so if my prediction is already starting to play out, I'm sorry. But my prediction is that Andi is someone playing for the other team who will in some way seek to rescue Sam from the contract.

Interesting. That would be a natural development, of course.
I *missed* the last episode because my #$*&$(@ cableco DVR didn't switch the channel correctly. I'm going to dump it for TiVo as soon as I can.
Are the current shows available anywhere? iTunes?

Interesting disconnect between the promo spots for last night's Reaper , which show the devil apparently celebrating Hallowe'en as "the most wonderful time of the year" (set to the usual Christmas-y tune) and the episode itself, in which the devil tells Sam he hates Hallowe'en because people no longer take him and his minions seriously. Sam begins to figure out that as a "father figure," Satan is mostly the father of lies.
