I see this one on 10/4. Trailer makes it look more interesting than the screening invite.

It's hard to tell from the trailer: the film could be anything from jaw-droppingly good to wincingly bad. But now I want to find out...

FWIW, it plays the VIFF three times between this Friday and Thursday October 11. (Let us know how it is, Darrel!)

Not only is it long, it feels long.

The first part that focuses on the Battle of Algiers is the best. It could have been a good history of terrorism. It could have been an interesting insight into someone who has been involved with terrorism for decades. It could have been a look at the lingering effects of colonialism. It could have been interesting.

Have you bought your ticket?

Having just watched The Girl at the Monceau Bakery, I need to note that this film is directed by "The Young Man" in the film (also one of the producers of many of Rohmer's films.) He also appears as The Mechanic in The Darjeeling Limited.
