I thought I would share with you a painting I did for our Christmas Card inspired by the hymn "Lo How a Rose E'er Blooming"

Wow! That's really nice. I love the cross imagery, perfectly stated - not to much, not to little.

(That's one of my favorite carols also!)

This is a really wonderful painting, Jim.

I hate to be a pedant, but I'm a words guy, and the caption on the painting ("Lo, how a rose ere blooming") doesn't match the text of the hymn/Christmas carol ("Lo, how a rose e'er blooming"). The meanings of "ere" and "e'er" are quite different, and I'm wondering if that was intentional, or just an oversight on your part.

Wonderful painting, nevertheless.

I guess I need a good editor. I had looked up the Christmas Carol, actually from Sufjan Stevens Christmas Album and I either misread it or misremembered it. It will give the art historians something to argue about. : )

I had actually made the cards through Cafe Press so they are already on the web site. I added a few more options. So if anyone is interested here is the URL:
