So can anyone over there give us information about the lag time between openings here and openings there?

Is there anything you guys catch before us?

Calendar Girls comes to mind.

Hi (M) not seen much of Alvy recently, or the other British guy who'se name escapes me so I guess I'd better field this one.

Basically it varies quite a bit but typically i'd say it works like this.

Most US releases - We get these 1-6 months after they get released in the states

Mega US releases (Such as LOTR, Matrix reloaded etc) - These are now generally released at the same time

British made films Generally we get these first (e.g. Calendar Girls, Bend it Like Beckham, Johnny English, Gosford Park) but not always as with Lust Actually which for some reason you also got first

European Made films We often get these first, hence I missed the Son because I only heard you guys talk about it after it had passed out of cinemas here. Don't know whether we just get a few, some, most or all, European films first tho.

Does this help? The Passion opens on the 26th MArch here FWIW
