Miss Austen Regrets, a true story based on Jane Austen’s own letters and diaries, will be part of the four-month marathon.

“Once we sealed the deal on the four new Austen adaptations, we decided we had to complete the package with Emma and Pride and Prejudice,” says MASTERPIECE THEATRE executive producer Rebecca Eaton. “The biopic Miss Austen Regrets is the frosting on the cake: an intimate portrait of the remarkable woman behind these wonderful stories.”

Complete series, with a preview, here. I must say, I'm a bit dubious about Rose Tyler--I mean, Billie Piper--as Mansfield Park's Fanny Price.
All the new DVDs can be pre-ordered.

I think my wife has seen most of the new ones, and I have seen a few.

Beckinsdale's Emma has been around for a while, but we got it packaged with a couple of the new ones as well. It's the only version of Northanger Abbey I've seen. and I liked it. I've also seen the new Persuasion. I marginally prefer the Ciarin Hinds version, but both are good. The new one does have the advantage of featuring Joseph Mawle who will play Jesus in an HBO/BBC Passion Drama this Easter.

As for Billie/ Billie Piper, I missed that one, but Mel wasn't hugely impressed.

I haven't checked the PBS page, but did they also mention the new Sense and Sensibility that aired on New Year's Eve over here? We missed it, but hope to catch it soon.
