I'm trying to impress this chick who speaks spanish and would love to watch a movie in the spanish language.
Any reccomendations?
The only ones I can think of right now are "Talk to Her" and "open your eyes".
Perhaps something romantic?

Almodovar? His movies might be good watch if you wanted to impress a potential boyfriend, but otherwise ...

Seriously, though, Spanish cinema ain't my thing. I've heard great things about "Spirit of the Beehive," which I checked out from the library but never got around to watching. There's a fairly recent film called "Butterfly" that's quite moving, albeit somewhat predictable. However, it's pretty heavy going. Also, it may be in Portuguese, not Spanish. I'm not sure.
Then there's "Y Tu Mama Tambien." From all I've heard about that movie, it should make quite an impression on your ladyfriend! 8O

My sister in law did her PhD in Argentinian lit & cinema, so I'll ask her if you like.

It really depends on how you are trying to impress her. A lot of films in "spanish" that we get to see are packed with horrific and/or explicit imagery. Great films, but not for the faint of heart and definitely not first date material.

Almodovar's stuff is no exception. Talk to Her is one of his "cleaner" films, a perfect and gorgeous film. But then she might be bored by it, which would also preclude it from being first date material.

Central Station is a great one, very accessible. Very watchable.

Bunuel's later films are sometimes in Spanish. Cannot think of titles, offhand, but I saw some in the late '70's around the time that they were exported here. UPDATE: The one I was thinking of was apparantly not directed by him, but here are some others. While poking fun at christianity, he is not as hostile as when starting out.

El Angel Exterminador 1962
Viridiana 1967
Simon del Desierto 1965
Tristana 1970

Does she like action films? El Mariachi was originally subtitled.

Ha! I was just checking that. Brazil, Brazil kept creeping up in the back of my mind.
