There's not a lot out there about this film, but the premise is intriguing. Set in present day, Cage's character, a school teacher, unearths a time capsule buried at his school in the late 50's. The time capsule includes predictions by a woman, many that have come to pass, and others that are still yet to come.

This was supposed to be director Richard Kelly's followup to Donnie Darko, but production delays forced him to drop out and Alex Proyas to sign on. Filming is set to begin later this month.

Sigh.

Nobody would be happier than me if Nicolas Cage became an interesting actor again. But it seems like most of his performances now consist of the same furrowed-brow sincerity, usually planted in the middle of absurd situations. What happened to the Nicolas Cage who was barrels of fun? He appeared for a fleeting moment in Grindhouse, just enough to make me remember why I used to love him.

He's suffering from serious overexposure... and that overexposure has not given us anything truly memorable, at least in recent years.

Along similar lines, I was thinking...waitasc...is this the same guy that was in Adaptation. ?

I just discovered that one of the writers on this film is Stuart Hazeldine, a Christian who has worked on Scott Derrickson's in-development adaptation of Paradise Lost, among other things. Suddenly I am more interested in this film than I already was.

It gets weirder.
