I haven't figured out whether I like this show or not. I certainly like its whimsy and, IMHO, it's a better show than Pushing Daisies. It's very cool to see Victor Garber (Godspell) still singing after all these years.

But he sang better when he was Jesus.

Anyone else beside me still watching this show? I think it generally held up pretty well, and has come back with some interesting storylines. However, it's another show that tosses around speculative ideas about "God" and "faith" in generalized ways that are evidently supposed to appeal to or at least be inoffensive to just about anyone or everyone. A lot of symbolically named characters to play with.

The good in last night's episode: Katie Holmes! as a character named "Grace Fuller" (giant flashing symbol lights), singing and dancing in a Fosse-style number. You know she'll be back. And who can't love the idea of an organization like "Lawyers without Limits"--obviously modeled on Doctors without Borders (Medecins sans Frontiers)?

The not-so-good: Which Bible did they get this line from?

"You know how the Bible defines grace? It's the spirit of God that exists in humans for the sole purpose of strengthening them."

I am not making this up.

Ugh.

I stopped watching this a long time ago.
