I now know, scientifically, according to this survey, why my paintings don't sell better.

I should be painting dishwasher sized landscapes, primarily blue, green and red in color, with wild animals, with people at leisure, that are pleasant to look at and that don't make people think about anything important, and they should cost less than $500.00 and be similar to the stye of Norman Rockwell or Rembrandt.

If I had know this 25 years ago I'd be rich by now.

I'm thinking wispy fog shrouded lamp posts couldn't hurt either.

If you could also add a feature that made them smell like cookies it would be good, perhaps vanilla scented paint.

Actually, I think cupcakes will be the new trend. In fact if you could put blue and/or green landscapes on actual cupcakes...chaching!!!!!! you could buy your own blue and green landscape and reside in a palace filled with older objects. You could give tours to "art tourists" and increase your bottom line even further.

That's pretty funny!

Not to detract from the humour or irony of it all, but I've met a couple of collectors and buyers and the hot thing for now (and has been for a short while) is modern art along the lines of the abstract expressionists. I know you aren't into that sort of thing, but just sayin'. That's where the big money is, although I've also heard that some socialist realism is coming up, too. I met a collector in Dallas who is big on found art right now. So maybe you can combine those three styles and REALLY hit it big.
