Some questions: I got the impression that Lila wasn't Mohawk - when they discuss expelling her, they mention that she has a Mohawk son, and cost them a Mohawk son. Anyone else pick that up. May help to explain why her inlaws took the baby to raise. Anyone familiar with the status of the Akwesasne rez where this takes place? It would make sense that the Mohawks should be able to cross the US/Canadian border at will (dating back to a 1796 treaty), but has Homeland Security managed to get a grip on the potential for human smuggling that this represents?
