Why did Disney push back "Prince of Persia" ?
Not sure what to make of last week's announcement that Walt Disney Pictures was pushing back the release date of "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" ? Join the club.
People all over Hollywood are trying to figure out why the Mouse moved this highly anticipated Jerry Bruckheimer production out of its previously announced June 16, 2009 slot. Opting instead to push the release of "POP : TSOT" back to May 28, 2010.

Hmmm, isn't that the same month that Disney is planning to release The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader? According to BoxOfficeMojo.com, Disney is currently planning to release Dawn Treader on May 7 and Toy Story 3 on June 18 -- which would seem to give Prince of Persia three weeks' clearance on either side (and that's not taking into account any films that OTHER studios might be releasing around that time).

Anyway ... in other news ... does putting the head of Jake Gyllenhaal on the body of a relatively buff man strike anyone else as a little ... I dunno, odd? Just Jared, via Cinematical:

Whoa indeed.

I was going to copy everything over into the other thread, but then I noticed that the thread I began is #20840, and the thread you began is #20841 -- so I guess I win by a nose. wink.gif

Have two posts on the same subject ever begun so simultaneously before, here?

Not to my knowledge. Wow. Crazy.

For the record, here's what I posted. (The other thread can be deleted now...)

This photo of Jake Gyllenhaal (with girlfriend Reece Witherspoon) on the set for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time demands a caption contest.

FWIW, looks like Bruckheimer's prepping another Pirates of the Caribbean-like franchise. The first film co-stars Alfred Molina, Sir Ben Kingsley, and Gemma Arterton.

I vaguely recall being involved in one before, but no idea as to what or even when.
