American Tabloid and American Death Trip (aka The Cold Six Thousand) are some wild recountings of the history surrounding the rise of the Kennedy's, and the crimnal underworld that supposedly backed them. I thought these would be unfilmable as individual movies, but having HBO turn them into a miniseries, as they did with John Adams, is probably the best way to handle the intricacies of these novels. I wonder if this series will be vilified by historians in the same way as Oliver Stone's JFK, as these books give a whole new, twisted version of conspiracy theories surrounding the assasinations of both Kennedy brothers and Martin Luther King.
