The 1905 Pathé film that made the Vatican's Top 45, yes.

Neither is Dekalog, but you don't hear anyone complaining.

I think we have to recognize that feature films (i.e. films of at least one hour in length) pretty much did not exist before 1912 or so, and thus, our standards for the earlier film era will need to be a little different than our standards for films made today. Besides, Life and Passion is something like 40 minutes, maybe more, so it ain't THAT short.

No, I assumed I was voting for the 1999 animated film about Jesus starring the voice of Ralph Fiennes.

The dates or directors for most of the films where there may have been confusion were provided in the original list of nominees, so I've posted that on the Eligible Films thread for reference.

And it's really not an issue that the early Life Of Christ film is shorter than movies are today, nor that The Dekalog is ten hours long. They're Spiritually Significant films, that's what matters.

I know which ones I would pick, but we should be clear for the board. I would guess more people saw the recent remake of Solaris that the original.

FWIW, the Burt Lancaster film called Moses was condensed from a much longer mini-series called Moses the Lawgiver, produced and co-written by the same people who made Jesus of Nazareth and A.D. Anno Domini (though all three productions had different directors).
