Full Version: Favorite Internet Radio Stations

Hello...

Forgive me for being late in the game, but I finally discovered that there is software out there that can record Internet Radio stations (streaming audio) into MP3, which I can then take with me and listen on my iPod. I also discovered that this is something that I can do for free, but manually, via my own computer's "sound recorder", a proper set up in control panel, and a WAV-to-MP3 converter. (of course, I can also download trial freeware for some of these programs).

This is a huge new world for me--and I already have satellite radio (available online) and iTunes. I know about podcasts. But this frees me to upload radio shows that I am unable to listen to during the day. It also frees me to discover somebody's homemade Internet Radio program.

So I put this out there, knowing full well that I am sooooooooo late in the game, and that music programs may be made obsolete in a few months (if not already)... but I still dare ask: what is your favorite streaming Internet radio station? Or favorite radio show?

Thx!
Nick
Holy Moly!
Hollow Earth Radio, based in Seattle, is great. Hit or miss, (as any station experimental enough to merit attention is) but they've definitely got their ear to the ground!

Radio Paradise is pretty good. They can be tasteful to a fault--sometimes they're a bit boring--but most music lovers should be pleased by the diversity, eclecticism and quality.

It's called: Replay A/V 8

I don't have it yet, and I plan to run a trial version first. But it's what I asked for Christmas.

As I see it, if this program works, I can decrease my membership with satellite radio to just PC-only, and then choose the programs I'd like--both satellite radio and Internet radio. And it's all perfectly legal.

really?gonna check it out.
The reason I was asking is that a friend of mine used one called Radiotracker, or something like that and he liked the way it worked. It does seem very appealing this way of getting music.
