Anyone seen this? It's a documentary about the Amish practice of Rumspringa -- when their kids turn 16, they let 'em sample "life on the outside," which, to the kids in the documentary, apparently means wild parties and dealing crystal meth. The kids can then decide whether to give up their dope and driver's licenses, be baptized and join the church -- or not. The film claims that the current "return rate" of Amish teenagers to the church is 90%, the highest in the church's history -- which, given that Amish families are encouraged to have as many children as possible, must mean the church is growing like gangbusters.

Ahem.
Though it seems the search engine might have failed you on this one, since it failed me, too. Good thing the moderators can merge new threads into the existing ones, now.

I was going to link this but I knew I could count on you Peter. Your consistency is incredible.
Is there anyway to retrieve the old discission at this point? I thought that was a pretty decent thread.

Thanks, PTC ...
Yes, I did search first, and didn't find the thread.
So how did you find it without the search function ... or do I want to know?

Actually, I think I now know what the problem is there -- the search engine has been changed recently, and now, unless you specifically tell it otherwise, it assumes you only want to search posts from the last 30 days. I didn't tell it otherwise when I ran my search, and I'm guessing you didn't either.

Trade secrets, m'lad. But suffice to say it's times like these I'm glad I'm an amateur archivist.
