Zatôichi 5: On the Road will be showing as part a local independent theatre's Midnight Movie series. It does look interesting, and they usually choose the good rarities.
A theatre screening is a rare thing for most of these flicks and a great experience. I got to see Rear Window, Die Hard, and Ghostbusters this way and Top Secret! and Chaplin's Modern Times are coming up.
Should I make it a priority to see it Zatôichi 5 as well?

I haven't seen that particular Zatoichi film, but I've seen several of them and they're all wonderful. The thing with the Zatoichi films (at least, of the ones I've seen) is that you can enjoy them as fun samurai action films (the series' gimmick is that Ichi, who is blind, is actually a very skilled swordsman - and it's always a treat when his opponents realize that too late). However, they've also got a fine sense of drama and tragedy about them as well. Ichi himself is a great character - downtrodden and humble to a fault, but also good-natured about his lot in life and a bit of a bumbler. He knows he's a deadly warrior, so he does everything he can to avoid a violence. But when he's forced to fight, watch out!
