The complete Flickerings 2004 schedule is now up at the Flickerings web site, with longer movie blurbs for our Featured Screenings, a Schedule and Filmmaker Bios for the short film Showcase, a Full Schedule grid, and information about our new "Eight-Hour Film School" and also Doug's seminar on Andre Bazin-- all in all, our most jam-packed and diverse schedule ever!! The festival begins SIX WEEKS FROM TODAY!!! (This is why I've been scarce around this board lately!) Hope to see many of you at Flickerings in July!

It looks fantastic, Mike, great job! I'm looking forward to reading all of your feature film capsules.

Two minor fixes:

• On the Flickerings main page, "Cinephilia" is written "Cinphilia"

• I can't get the link to The Wind Will Carry Us to work.
Doug C
Scratch the Kiarostami, it has been fixed.
Russell Lucas
A dumb question, perhaps, Doug, but will the two Bazin seminars be the same?
Doug C
I don't think so, unless I misunderstood the format. I plan to string it out in two parts.
Doug C
Actually, I'd be happy to shorten and repeat, it's up to Mike.

Doug's second seminar will continue, not repeat, the first. Note that on the Flickerings Schedule he's got a two-hour slot on Friday and Saturday. That's just how the slots fell out as the program was going out the door to the printer, and Doug is welcome to use both slots as he sees fit, though our original plan was for three one-hour seminars.

Meanwhile, for anyone interested in catching seminars by Peter Chattaway, J. Robert Parks and a host of others (including moi) at the Imaginarium (another film-related venue at Cornerstone) that schedule is posted now here.

Thanks, Mike--feel free to invite the Imaginarium folks to use this board to support their schedule--I'd love to see broader coverage of the arts.

The schedule looks great Mike. The Flickerings sure has come a long way!

Just home from a long weekend at Cornerstone Farm, the annual pre-fest reconnoiter. Very much like the subway scene in Planet of the Apes, with last year's posters and schedules still in place. The metal building had been reclaimed entirely by Nature, it will take some serious bird poop removal to convert the place back into a Temple of Cinema. Meanwhile, on a related topic, the Johnny-on-the-Spots (or conscientious of the odd spelling of Courts Martial, I wonder if "Johnnys-on-the-Spot" is more correct) were being delivered over the course of the weekend: one had the distinct feeling of Something Is Beginning To Happen Here. Did a long walk on otherwise empty grounds, lush grass about to be trampled by thousands, lots of wildlife -- deer, turkey, said birdies, bunnies -- which has no idea what's about to happen. Between then and now: the ToDo list is still outrageously long. Still working on a place for any late-night screenings/get-togethers. Did Alan ever pull together the Arts & Faith Bar-Be-Que? Gotta go.

Good to hear Mike. Glad the port-o-pots will have a full month to ripen to perfection. 11ztongue.gif
