I wonder if Kevin's glad he ditched the original ending...

I guess that also means that he's changed his mind about Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back being the last of the "Jay and Silent Bob" films. Not that I'm really complaining. I'm probably one of the few big fans of Smith's on here.
Peter T Chattaway
Yeah, Anders, I had that same thought about Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I suspect Smith might have been inspired by Before Sunset.

Word on the street is that the new Clerks film is partially a reward for Jason Mewes (Jay to Kevin's Silent Bob) for managing to stay heroin-free for the last 2 years or so. Kevin said that he realized that the Jay and Silent Bob thing was enabling Jason's drug habit and that's partially why J & SB took a hiatus.

I don't know. Think of the psossibilities.

quasi spoilers1.gif ensue...

Dante has been haunting Randall for ten years at the video store. Dante always whining about how he missed the light that takes you up for judgement, so he's stuck wandering his hometown. Hijinks ensue.

"Haunting stinks."

First time I've ever agreed with Joel Siegel. (Haven't seen the film, but having turned off the first one after about 15 minutes, I can imagine.)

I know Kevin Smith has his fans here, and they'll probably agree with Smith's cracks about Siegel (heck, even I agree with Smith on Siegel's "word play"), but I can't take Smith seriously as a filmmaker.

I don't know. Siegel was childish. Actually making a show out of walking out of a movie. But I am just bitter, since the last movie I walked out of, I did not think to make a performance out of walking out.

Do tell! My wife walked out on the ending of Million Dollar Baby. I wish I'd followed her, but I sat there, certain that an Ordet -style miracle was about to take place.

What a great idea for a thread... the last movie you walked out of.

Mine was Bridges of Madison County.

Batman and Robin.

Let's create that somewhere else perhaps?
Anders
Anyone here actually seen this besides me? Anyone else actually enjoy it?

Granted, it is full of Smith's trademark filthy humour, but it's also hilarious. I cannot deny it.

Sure the bigger budget and everything means that it is more in vein with Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back than with the original Clerks, but it also has some touching moments in keeping with Chasing Amy or Jersey Girl.

The standout scene for me is the one where Becky (Rosario Dawson) tries to teach Dante to dance, and Jay and Silent Bob provide the music: Jackson 5's "ABC."
