You going to also hang around for CAFF? Not that I'm likely to be able to make it there either.

I'd like to, but their Web site doesn't give me any information on the line-up of films for this year, so I'm not sure what to expect. Have they put out any kind of press release about this year's fest?

CAFF finally has their stuff on line for this year's festival. Theme: Reel myths. Interesting films, including Yojimbo, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Wizard of Oz, LOTR:FOTR (extended), Mad Max 2, and Chinatown. Hope someone is able to report back on it. Stupid real world job keeps me from going.

Well, drat.

Suddenly, mysteriously, after folks like me have registered, bought plane tickets, and reserved hotel rooms, Wim Wenders mysteriously disappears from the program for this conference.

Thus my editors and I agree that, since our #1 reason for attending the conference is gone, we can't justify the high costs of sending me down there to report on the event.

So as it turns out, I'm NOT coming to L.A. for this thing after all.

Lame.
