Okay, this is really important. A really important thread.
This summer I recorded a bunch of music for my mom and dad's 50th anniversary. Of their wedding, like. MOR music from 1954, plus/minus five years or so.
Ended up liking some tunes I never would have thought. Got strangely addicted to Tony Bennett, of all people. Fascinated by something in his voice.
Eventually realized that whenever I listened to him sing "Stranger In Paradise" or "Because Of You," for example, I would imagine that it was Christopher Walken singing.
Tony Bennett, Christopher Walken. Who'da thunk? Middle-of-the-road meets over-the-top. But it's there. Listen to Tony, see if you don't hear it too.
So I'm telling some people about this the other day, they're as incredulous as you probably are. So for the heck, I look up Chris on IMDb: birthplace, Queens NY. Look up Tony on AMG: birthplace, Queens NY.
Am I psychic or what?
He who has ears, let him hear.

Bennet and Walken came up at J. Roberts' Imaginarium seminar at Cornerstone this past summer. On the subject of "Why is Christopher Walken cool?" one question asked if Walken is cool in the same way that Bennet is cool.
IIRC, the answer was no--Bennet is cool because he's a elder crooner; Walken is cool becuase he 'does his own thing,' and is hard to pin down.

Okay, that's just plain weird. The Bennett-Walken connection grows ever stronger.
Even weirder - that's the first time JBob has been wrong. Clearly, the shared coolness of Tony and Chris has something to do with Queens.
Weirdest of all - JBob is Julia Roberts! Who knew. Very clever disguise. (You never should have broke up with Lyle Lovett, I don't care how cute you are. And what ever happened to your big brother? He was pretty good. Creepy, in an almost Christopher Walken sort of way....)

Okay, here's a weird Walken/Bennett connection involving me. My mother's maiden name is Bennett and I was introduced to my wife by Walken's niece.
Where, oh where, is Kevin Bacon when you need him?

Okay, so how did you know Walken's niece? Did you meet her in Queens? Maybe visiting your mother's family, who, being named Bennett, must also come from Queens, am I right? (And of course, if reports about JBob's legs are to be believed, he's also something of a queen. But I don't think that's significant here.) There's a definite something or other emerging here.

Er... no.
Ken Walken & family used to live in the Dallas area and we attended the same church (yes, they are evangelical Christians). His daughter was high school and college friends with The Sexy One, who later became Mrs. SZPT. We met at a Memorial Day get-together at the Walken's house in, again, the Dallas area. After the Walken daughter graduated from college, and also married, they moved to I'm not sure where.
The Bennetts settled in San Antonio by way of the Venezuelan oil fields by way of, I believe, Tennessee.
Oh, and one of my youth group friends at that church was named Tony. He's Filipino.
I couldn't make it any less weird than it is. I couldn't make it any more weird if I tried.
And someday when I finish The Great American Movie Script I will try to take advantage of the connection (the Chris Walken connection, not the Tony-from-church connection).

Oh, you had me going there for a minute. I was just imagining a film based around the fact that Tony Bennett and Christopher Walken sound alike because they both come from Queens. NOW I realize you're just planning to exploit your... No, I'm not sure just what it is you're hoping to exploit.
Okay, let's say it is the CW-TB sound-the-same-because-they-come-from-Queens-and-are-probably-blood-relatives amost-conspiracy theory, corroborated by the SZPT link. And let's say your movie gets made - I mean, with a can't-miss premise like that, there can be no doubt. So... Can I have a credit? Huh, huh, can I please?

I should point out here, of course, that Kevin is from Philadelphia.

Speaking of legs . . .
I heard that Christopher Walken dances in every movie he is in . . . .
The last few I have seen with him he definitely is . . . "Catch Me If You Can" for instance . . . .
I seem to remember him dancing quite a bit . . . even in the addiction (My Avatar) has him dancing in the street I think.
Can anyone confirm this ??
Does Tony Bennet dance ? ? (forgive my ignorance, I have only heard his music)
