Full Version: Opus coming to the big screen?

opus
Apparently, Miramax is planning to do a CGI film about Opus... you know, that penguin from Bloom County, Outland, etc.

Whee! I loved Bloom County, although I discovered it several years after it'd been stopped. I have some antipathy towards Miramax, but thankfully, this one should be safe since it's not an Asian film. Unfortunately, the words "family friendly" have been batted around in describing the film, so I just hope they don't dumb down Breathed's wit too much.

BTW... has anyone here seen A Wish For Wings That Work? It's probably my fave Christmas program, and one that's sadly unknown.

Here's a link to the original Variety piece.

Thought I'd post this here rather than start a new thread.

Hey Opus, here's an article on the release of a book of Opus the penguin's Sunday best. Thought you'd be interested.

BTW, yes I have seen A Wish for Wings That Worked back when it first premiered, but have not seen it since. I can remember the day that book arrived at the bookstore I was managing. Being that it was Christmas season, and that I was a huge fan of Bloom County I kinda over-ordered, but unfortunately it didn't sell as well as I thought it would.... not that it sold poorly, but I did have some explaining to do come the end of the year inventory. doh.gif
