I understand we've got a few Philip Seymour Hoffman fans on the boards here -- has anyone seen this film? I've noticed it at my local Blockbuster, and the back-of-the-box storyline offered some promise.

i've seen it, just cause of love hoffman. it is what it seems to be. a sad movie about a guy whose wife commits suicide. i did really like it but it would be hard to reccomend it because i can see someone really not like it. if you like hoffman, it's worth it. it had some funny memorable scenes, particularly the scene where he decides to take a swim.

I'm a Hoffman big fan, too, and if you like him Love Liza is certainly worth seeing, mostly for his performance. It's not, however, a great film--it has plenty of interesting moments--but the film as a whole didn't do much for me.

See it if you like Philip Seymour Hoffman...just like everyone else here has stated. His performance is top notch. I would also agree that this is not a movie I would recommend but I think the people on this board may look a bit deeper than the ho-hum reviews it has received.

The longer I thought about this movie the more I enjoyed the movie makers. What I eventually asserted onto this movie may not have been their intention but it made it a better experience. Go figure, art and it's multi-layered meanings?

My final conclusion is that those who did not care for the movie may have been pulled so far into the intentions that they really experienced it as if they were Wilson, Philip Seymour Hoffman's character.

Thanks for the feedback - while I thought PSH's performance in "Magnolia" was fantastic, I don't think that makes me a fan of his. So unless there's a drought of decent Blockbuster selections sometime, I think I'll pass on 'Love Liza.'
