    Skyline

Heh. Now every time I see the trailer or TV spot I'll be thinking of the song, "I wish we'd all been ready."
  2. Ahh, gotcha. That's what I thought, but I wasn't certain.
  3. Would the Richard Donner cut of Superman II count? Or perhaps -- for MST3K fans -- Time Chasers? Also, I'm really curious as to what movies you were referring to in your first post.
  4. HA! If this is Zombieland, it's awesome!
  5. That can't be It's a Wonderful Life, can it?
  6. Here's my first try. She cooks potatoes. She overcooks potatoes. Then she kills a man.
  7. Reservoir Dogs? I'm pretty sure I'm going to kick myself when I find out what your other two are.
  8. Barton Fink That's not The Great Muppet Caper is it?
  9. Just thinking about the ending of Ponette makes me teary-eyed.
  10. Not by my lights. Flawed, certainly, frustrating and less than satisfying in ways, but not soul-suckingly horrible, like some other movies under discussion here. Agreed. Unless Ryan's referring to the updated ending that replaces Sebastian Shaw with Hayden Christensen. That still gets my blood boiling.

    The Blind Side

I don't recall anything from either film that I thought would serve to define either character as an evangelical Christian. I probably need to watch both movies again. I thought it was fairly clear from the book that Annie Wilkes was an evangelical Christian, but I haven't read that book since I was a freshman in high school. So, it's possible that I'm misremembering things.

    The Blind Side

Hmmm. Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump? I know this wasn't a particularly glorifying portrait, but what about Kathy Bates in Misery? It's been a while since I've seen either of these movies, but does Sissy Spacek in Coal Miner's Daughter or Sally Field in Norma Rae count? I don't remember if either of those films delved into their respective religions or not.
  13. I've seen 51 overall. 7 in the top ten (I still haven't seen The Decalogue, Babette's Feast, or Early Summer. They're in my Netflix queue now), and 29 in the top 50.
