  1. Michel Gondry is so brilliant and offkey. He can make me like a mediocre song just by what he does with the video, which is always imaginative and usually non-CG special effects. And when he does it with a song I already like (such as "Mad World"), hey, bonus. His work with Bjork is still my favorite, though.
  2. If we extend this discussion to architects, I would say that without question Frank Gehry would be considered a master. Best known for the Guggenheim in Spain, and maybe the Experience Music Project in Washington state, he has designed a number of buildings and structures, as well as his own line of furniture. His architectural style has always been revolutionary and controversial, not to mention unmistakeable. I think it would be nice if non-members were told on the 'edit avatars' page of their profile that they can't upload their own avatars, so they don't waste their time trying to figure out what's going on.
  4. The song you're referring to is called All Of Our Hands. It's an online-only song that you can hear on Joe's official website. You can also go to www.allofourhands.com and see the video for it. [WARNING: the video contains graphic imagery of violence and death.] Btw, there is also an e.p. called And The Thieves Are Gone that are songs recorded around the same time as Our Shadows Will Remain, but didn't make it onto the album. I don't rate it as highly as the album (which was my personal pick for album of the year), but it may be of interest to some of you.
  5. Yeah, that sampler from Paste magazine was the first I had (knowingly) heard Neko. (And btw, kudos to Paste for giving away a free cd AND a free dvd with their mag!) That song ("If You Knew") is amazing, and I'm hoping to go see her at The Cat's Cradle this Friday night.
