The news came as a surprise to me because it's one of those cases where I thought he was already deceased. I hate it when that happens!
  3. I'm getting that they opened with "Lotus Flower", which would preclude a straight-forward TKOL run-through. The only time I saw them was a rather long time ago (2001). I had to leave a couple songs early, but it was quite the show. No "Creep", and I'm not complaining.
  4. Ideally, I would want a varied setlist, personally, but I would still stay (besides, they are already planning on running through the new album on the Basement series). I might encourage the others to leave, though. Better view for me!
  5. Playing through "Infamous 2", also. My wife demands that I play through as white as the wind-driven snow, so that's what I'm doing.
  6. His last few albums have been great, and Orphans is the best collection of toss-offs pretty much ever, so suffice it to say any new Tom Waits is welcome here.
  7. I like TKOL quite a bit, but this is already a good candidate to make LP9.
  8. A more direct link: Really feeling this one. To the studio, stat!
  9. http://www.thephorum.net/index.php/topic,4383.msg91153.html#msg91153 ^my running list, for which I have a lot of catch up to do, and will probably continue to have a lot of catching up. PJ Harvey's is my favorite album of the year so far, but Over the Rhine, Elbow, and Radiohead are the ones on the list I'm returning to the most.
  10. "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall"? Really?! First reaction: zzzzzzzzz
  11. I hope I'm not the only one who welled up reading Thom's post. Wow.
  12. My first impressions are very positive, but I rather love this band.
  13. Love the thread title. I've been playing a combination of her new album and Germfree Adolescents for much of this still-young weekend.
