I submitted this to Ken as one of my top ten spiritually significant films directed by women. I've been kicking myself for forgetting to nominate it, especially after watching the one Lois Weber film we did nominate, Where Are My Children? - a technically accomplished film that didn't really strike me as a good fit for the list. The Hypocrites, however, would have been a fantastic fit and it's one we should keep in mind going forward.
