  1. Principal photography begins in October -- in Montreal, of all places. The film will star Gerard Butler, and it will apparently go the Sin City route of aping Miller's visual style very, very closely.
  2. Overstreet

    Watchmen (2009)

The wheels on this project are beginning to turn...

  4. Trailer here. Make of this strangeness what you will.
  5. My daughter likes the trailers she's seen. I'm always on the lookout for something I can take my kids to. So. Is there anything I should know about this film? I note that the villains are described in the press notes as "the Pure Ones." Oh, and according to the IMDb, the main character "is kidnapped by owls of St. Aggie's, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers." I'm not sure I like the idea of the words "Pure" or "St." being associated with the bad guys, but hey, those wouldn't necessarily be deal-killers. On the other hand, if this turned out to be something like Happy Feet, which had a basically anti-religious sensibility, then I'm not sure I'd want to take the kids. Anyone here familiar with the books on which this movie is based?
