From filmmaker Barry Jenkins, the film is structured in three acts, each focused on a different stage in the life--childhood, adolescence, young adulthood--for a young black man trying to understand his own masculinity and sexuality in 1980s and 90s Miami. The film is currently at 99 on Metacritic, and is one of the more beautifully lit films I've seen in 2016. From my review:
