    Lady Bird

Shockingly, I can't find a thread for Lady Bird, now nominated for 5 Academy Awards (which we all know doesn't mean much). So either something's terribly wrong with A&F, or that I'm a terrible user of the forum's search function (probably the latter). But this was one of my favorite films of 2017, and here's a lovely interview with director Greta Gerwig on the way she chose to portray Catholic school and religion in Lady Bird. Excerpt:

    Maggie's Plan

I rather liked this. It took me a little while to get into it; the characters weren't entirely clicking for me until a plot twist almost half way through, but after that nearly everything fell into place, including what had come before. Gerwig and Hawke are great playing variations on their best known screen personas. Moore is the MVP. My review: https://catholiccinephile.wordpress.com/2016/06/14/maggies-plan/

    Mistress America (2015)

Judging from my Twitter peeps at Sundance, Mistress America looks like a big hit. Several people said it's his funniest comedy and that the Baumbach/Gerwig chemistry is getting stronger. I can't wait. Here's a review.

    How I Met Your Dad

I've never watched an episode of How I Met Your Mother, but I'm starting a thread for the spinoff because Greta Gerwig is the star, and will produce and write for the show, as well.
