Trailer Alert!

Recommended Posts

The more I see of Riddick, the less I'm interested.

However, THIS has my attention:

The Bourne Supremacy

(And I wish they'd just recycle their fantastically corny tag line from last time...

DANGER... IS... BOURNE.)

How d'ya like the new MICHAEL MANN trailer?

I don't know what's stranger, seeing Tom Cruise with THAT hair... or seeing Jamie Foxx starring in a Michael Mann film...

Whatever, if it's Mann, I'm there.

Does Tom Cruise have a clause in his contracts that says he has to be seen running full-out at some point in the film?

Oh boy. Hopefully there are other Michael Mann fans here too (he does hail from Chicago). Isn't Mark Ruffalo in this as well? I really actually enjoyed him in 13 Going on 30.

Fervent nodding over here. Though the Bourne people do like to show off their inside-the-car point-of-view crash shots, don't they?

Y'know, my girlfriend and I were discussing the other day how weird it was to see such a big, big film come out of the relatively modest, even tiny, Pitch Black. But now, this second, I have suddenly been struck by the idea that one could say the same thing about The Lord of the Rings following The Hobbit.

Ditto... I wasn't expecting much out of the The Bourne Identity and was very pleasantly surprised. Definitely looking forward to this.

I'll Sleep When I'm Dead

Looks very Get Carter-ish (almost too much so), but Clive Owen looks hardcore. Makes me wish, more than ever, that he'd take the Bond gig.

I have this terrible feeling that, after King Arthur, it will take me a long time to take Clive Owen seriously again. But I hope I'm wrong, because when he's good, he's very very good. This looks promising.

Man... Charlotte Rampling is just about the most sought-after actress in movies right now!

There's some sweet stuff on the "Asian Trailers" section of that guy's site - Casshern, Howl's Moving Castle, Appleseed, etc. If you want to see something really bizarre - like Terry Gilliam meets City Of Lost Children meets Cube - check out the trailer for Gusher No Binds Me. I have no idea what the film's about, but I'm definitely intrigued after seeing that.

I actually don't want him as Bond simply because the current owners of the franchise are slowly destroying all that is great about 007.

Clive Owen doesn't deserve that.

Last night, Katie Couric interviewed Hugh Jackman on tv and they talked A LOT about what a good Bond he would make. He even did an impression. He convinced me. But apparently, "No one has approached him yet." But he'd sure be "open to the idea."

Good point.

Isn't Pierce trying to inflict some change in the series?

I believe so, and I applaud him for it. But what power does he really have here? I don't think that he's got any more pull with the money people than the audience does (who they do not seem to be listening to).

Also, he seems more to be talking with Tarantino about a renegade 007 movie.

Er, sorry, but when he's not in his Wolverine make-up he really just looks like a skinny geek to me. Plus he's played some rather effiminate roles (mainly on stage), and that just really screws up my perception of him as Bond.

All I have to say is that I would love for QT to take over the franchise, and make his "Casino Royale" with Brosnan stepping into Bond's tuxedo for a farewell performance.

Then bring on Clive Owen.

Then bring on Clive Owen.

Oh wait, it looks like he's already done the Bond thing... BMW Films (I just got done watching the Wong Kar Wai episode. Absolutely gorgeous, but what else would you expect? And the Guy Ritchie episode is quite a bit of fun.)

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go buy a Beemer...

Doing the BMW shorts was probably the smartest thing Clive ever did. Those made him the Bond frontrunner for me. And taking that minor, but powerful, role in The Bourne Identity was a stroke of genius.

Alan, should this be moved to its own seperate Bond/Clive Owen thread? We seemed to have hijacked the main theme.

And here's Keanu's latest... Constantine. (Sorry, links directly to QuickTime version. Did some searching on WB's site and couldn't find anything else.)

For some reason, I can't look at the trailer and not think of The Matrix, and not just because of Keanu's appearance. It's almost like the cinematographer stole a page or two from Bill Pope's notebook. At least that means it looks cool...

I have been real skeptical...I like the comic, but it's Reeves. That said I liked the trailer. It appears they may have found a way to translate Garth Ennis and his over the top nature. And I LOVE how they inverted a line I usually hate, but I have seen used in numerous Christian products...

"I don't believe in the Devil."

"You should, he believes in you."

Toshio is coming! The original Japanese version of the ultra-creepy Ju-On (aka The Grudge) is going to be released in the States prior to the release of the remake (which is being produced by Sam Raimi and stars Sarah Michelle Gellar).

Alexander.

1. Monk with Bell, from the Baraka soundtrack, is growing in popularity for trailers.

2. The first word out of the mouth of the narrator instantly identifies the actor.

3. Try to predict the single-word cut-line descriptions between segments as it progresses. I guessed 4 out of 6 of them.

4. Colin Farrell's hair is dorky.
