CILIP (Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals) is celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Carnegie Medal this year. To celebrate they're holding an online poll to decide the best of the best (from a judge-chosen shortlist of 10):

Skellig (David Almond) 1998 winner

Junk (Melvyn Burgess) 1996

Storm (Kevin Crossley-Holland) 1985

A Gathering Light (Jennifer Donnelly) 2003

The Owl Service (Alan Garner) 1967

The Family from One End Street (Eve Garnett) 1937

The Borrowers (Mary Norton) 1952

Tom's Miidnight Garden (Philippa Pearce) 1958

Northern Lights (Philip Pullman) 1995

The Machine-Gunners (Robert Westall) 1975

Interesting list. Hard to decide between some of these. What do others think?

Incidentally, you can vote here.
