The Longest Tennis Point Ever: 25 Years Ago

Recommended Posts

Back in 1984, I watched a lot of tennis. Playes some tennis, too. I can imagine watching this point in its entirety:

How does a point go on for 29 minutes before one player or the other hits a winner or makes a mistake?

At the Raintree Swim & Racket Club? In Richmond (or more accurately, Henrico County)? The house we lived in before we moved to Chicagoland was a mile or so away, and there was nothing to suggest it was more than your average local club -- I didn't realize it ever hosted professional tennis events, or even had the facilities to do so. Hmm.
