I've seen 31 of these, and have another 4 or 5 either on the shelf (in form of screeners) or ticket to a screening (assuming The Armstrong Life is referring to The Armstrong Lie).

Inside track appears to be between Stories We Tell and The Act of Killing, though Running from Crazy has been my favorite doc. this year.

Vote!

And note, the Academy's nominees do not overlap at all with the Producers Guild, they share one nominee (Dirty Wars) with the Writers Guild, one nominee (20 Feet from Stardom) with the American Cinema Editors, two nominees (Dirty Wars, 20 Feet from Stardom) with the Motion Picture Sound Editors, and three nominees (The Act of Killing, Cutie and the Boxer, The Square) with the Directors Guild.

Just for the record, four of these nominees (all but 20 Feet from Stardom) are now streaming on Netflix US (and at least two of them are streaming on Netflix Canada, too):

And the PGA award goes to... We Steal Secrets, which didn't even make the Oscar shortlist!

And the WGA award goes to... Stories We Tell, which wasn't even nominated for the Oscar.

Dirty Wars was the only WGA nominee that was also nominated for the Oscars, so there wasn't a whole lot of overlap here, and there's not a whole lot we can predict based on tonight's results.

And the Eddie award (for film editing) goes to... 20 Feet from Stardom, the only film that was nominated for *both* an Eddie and an Oscar.

And the winner of the Motion Picture Sound Editors award in this category is... Dirty Wars. And not the music-oriented Oscar frontrunner, eh?
