Something, Anything (2014)

Actually, my wife was the one who pointed this out. Women are generally more observant about these things.

Darren, is the wig a direct reference to Ona Munson in The Shanghai Gesture;)

I think most of you know that Paul Harrill is my partner in The Public Cinema. Still, it was fun yesterday to see Peggy (Ashley Shelton) and Tim (Linds Edwards) show up at our screening of Taxi. They're married now, which adds a fun twist to the final shot of Something, Anything!

Well, this is one step closer to happening. From the IFP week announcement . . .

Quote

Light from Light (working title) written and directed by Paul Harrill and produced by James M. Johnston and Elisabeth Moss. In East Tennessee, a single mom and amateur ghost hunter must enlist her teenage son to investigate a grieving widower’s farmhouse. (Drama)

James is the Indie Spirit-winning producer of Ain't Them Bodies Saints, Listen Up Philip, and A Ghost Story. And you've probably already heard of Elisabeth Moss.

I'm social media friends with most of you, but in case anyone missed the news, Paul's new film, Light from Light, will premiere at Sundance in a couple weeks. There are still some tweaks to be made, but I've seen a mostly-finished cut and, well, if you're a fan of Something, Anything, you'll love this one too. And if you've never heard of Marin Ireland, you're in for a treat. It's been really fun getting to go through much of this process with Paul. It's a lovely film, and I'm really proud of him for getting it made.

That's great news! Something, Anything is a film I'd love to own someday, if it were ever to be made available on DVD/Blu-ray.
