Overstreet Report post Posted April 1, 2015 (edited) Thanks to Holy Moly for recommending this. I've never heard Torrisi before, but this is a lovely, dreamy art-pop record. So... Annie Clark, Shara Worden, Nedelle Torrisi... Are these artists this talented before they join Sufjan's backup band? Or does being in his band cast some kind of magic spell? Holy Moly! Report post Posted April 1, 2015 Nedelle's always been a treasure! Her earlier work (as "Nedelle") was more acoustic singer-songwriter, but with strong 60s pop currents. Her project Cryptacize (with Chris Cohen, ex-deerhoof) was a strange and glorious band that put out 2 fine records on Asthmatic Kitty, before they broke up romantically and professionally and then each made a record that's transparently about the breakup. Joel Report post Posted April 1, 2015 Fun fact: Nedelle was randomly the opening act for my college band's final show years ago, which took place at the Paradox Theater (!) at what used to be Mars Hill church in Ballard (!) I love the Nedelle and Thom record, but it's the only one of hers I've actually heard. Will have to check this out.
