Recommended Posts

The ten films on the shortlist:

  • “Body Team 12,” RYOT Films and Vulcan Productions
  • “Chau, beyond the Lines,” Cynasty Films
  • “Claude Lanzmann: Spectres of the Shoah,” Jet Black Iris America
  • “50 Feet from Syria,” Spin Film
  • “A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness,” SOC Films
  • “Last Day of Freedom,” Living Condition
  • “Minerita,” Kanaki Films
  • “My Enemy, My Brother,” Fathom Film Group
  • “Starting Point,” Munk Studio – Polish Filmmakers Association
  • “The Testimony,” Atria Film in association with Escape Artists

One day if I have more time, I might look up the trailers for these films (or -- who knows -- maybe some of them are even online in their entirety).

I could not find trailers for A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness or The Testimony (both of which, coincidentally, would have been the fifth films in the groups of five that I was planning to post).

It bums me out that there doesn't seem to be any way to add polls to existing threads in the current version of the board, but oh well.

The nominees for the Oscar are:

  • “Body Team 12,” RYOT Films and Vulcan Productions
  • “Chau, beyond the Lines,” Cynasty Films
  • “Claude Lanzmann: Spectres of the Shoah,” Jet Black Iris America
  • “A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness,” SOC Films
  • “Last Day of Freedom,” Living Condition

Trailers for all of the nominees except A Girl in the River are above.
