It bums me out that there doesn't seem to be any way to add polls to existing threads in the current version of the board, but oh well.

The nominees for the Oscar are (with the ones I've seen in bold):

  • Christian Bale, The Big Short
  • Tom Hardy, The Revenant
  • Mark Ruffalo, Spotlight
  • Mark Rylance, Bridge of Spies
  • Sylvester Stallone, Creed
So the Academy agrees with SAG on only two nominees: Bale and Rylance.

And the winner is... Idris Elba, for Beasts of No Nation. Is this *despite* or *because* of the fact that he wasn't nominated for the Oscar? In any case, the SAG award gives us no clue as to who might win the Oscar in this category.
