This is one of the very, very few categories where the pertinent guild has not yet announced the nominations for its own award, so yay, I get to create a new thread and, thus, create a poll.

Vote!

So the front-runners, with three nominations apiece, are Mad Max: Fury Road, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Martian and The Revenant; the films with two nominations are Jurassic World, Sicario and Straight Outta Compton; and the films with a single nomination only are Ant-Man, Bridge of Spies, Creed, Jupiter Ascending, Love & Mercy, Mission: Impossible: Rogue Nation, Pitch Perfect 2, Room and Southpaw.

So all four of the thrice-nominated films are nominated for the Oscar, and so is one of the twice-nominated films.

The winners of the Golden Reel Awards will be announced February 27.

Forgot to note this earlier, but better late than never: The winners are... Star Wars: The Force Awakens (for music score), Love & Mercy (for music in a musical), Bridge of Spies (for dialogue / ADR) and Mad Max: Fury Road and The Revenant (tied for FX/Foley).

The Oscar went to Mad Max: Fury Road. Two of the five MPSE winners weren't even nominated for the Oscar.
