I found it interesting. A bit dry, a bit long on biography--but as a quick-ish overview of...well, the making of middlebrow culture...it's good. It's actually remarkable how closely debates over middlebrow culture chart with discussions still going on, on both the Left and the Right. The discussion hasn't really changed that much since the late 19th C. 

The stuff dealing with book radio was interesting (again, one can draw a straightish line from those shows to stuff like Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me).
