The world can never have too many blogs, right? Inspired by the excellent blogs of our own Jeffrey Overstreet and Andy Whitman, I've decided to cobble together my own blog. I'll be using it in conjunction with my Web site, Reveal, to encourage continued dialogue for those of us who like digging deep into the music we're listening to.

It's called The Reveal Listening Lounge, and I invite all of you folks to swing by and join in the conversation (by leaving comments).

In the future, I hope this won't be just another Internet time waster, but a helpful resource as I post reviews, first impressions, commentaries, links, and music news updates.

So, stop on by sometime. Hopefully this will prove rewarding to some of you. smile.gif

Josh, I didn't realize that you live in Knoxville. Did you go to the Pernice Brothers show at The Pilot Light two years ago? It was great fun seeing Joe in a small room with only 40 or 50 other fans. No Tennessee dates announced yet for this tour, unfortunately, and his jump from Louisville to Charlotte makes me think that he might not be coming back. This town really frustrates me at times.

Alas, I missed Pernice's show, along with OtR's show at the Pilot Light a year or so ago.

Generally I really like Knoxville, but I can certainly understand your frustration. What's up with the Downtown West theater being two months behind the rest of the country in getting all the good movies?

They're behind and they program really strange indie/art/foreign films. I pride myself for being up on film-happenings, but each week Downtown West brings in a title I've never heard of. This week it was Saving Face and Heights. We can't complain too much, though. Very few similar-sized towns in the southeast have as good a theater. Actually, the last time I went to Phoenix, I bought a paper and was amazed to discover that the Phoenix/Mesa/Tempe/Scottsdale area didn't have a single theater as good as Downtown West.
