I wanted to start this last week, but completely forgot.

The Countdown has begun....

T -18

If anyone picks up on what this refers to, feel free to continue the countdown. I'll be checking a certain statistic periodically over the next couple of days (hours?).

Whoa, cool! As of this post, it is still T -18. But I can't wait for the clock to count all the way down.

And I vote for hours, not days.

Do you really think it'll take hours? I'm voting for minutes. :)

Well, he might not be online right now. He does sleep, you know.

And, I'm sure, keep detailed statistics on exactly how long he does so.

Oh, come on. You don't think he's peeking out from under his sheets thinking about this? :)

Gawrsh. I hadn't realized it was so close.

Hmmm. I wonder if I can slow down and pace myself so that we hit the big two-oh-oh-oh-oh on the same day that I turn the big four-oh.

Statistics and detailed references to other instances of sleeping events that have any commonality with this current sleeping event. He frequently uses the ISDB for this purpose.

Hmm. Just did a little experiment to see if the type of statistic in question can be reversed by deletions of one's posts. Apparently, deletions do not affect the statistic. So that means the stat refers not only to existing entries, but to any that have been deleted for the sake of "Ahems," errors, accidental duplicate posts, etc. Interesting. This takes some of the fun out of what a goal I'd set for myself: to peruse threads and delete comments I've made in the past that I now realize were utterly inconsequential or regrettable. "Trimming the fat," so to speak. I still mean to do that from time to time, but alas, it won't be reflected in the available stats. I'd hoped to drive my own number down.

Does having this much time to think about this mean you're done revising?

:) Just checking in during a later supper before I go out to work until the wee hours. But thanks for your concern.

Yeah, I deleted a post earlier today and saw that my post count hadn't changed.

Hmmm. You know how the board merges two posts into one if they are posted within a few minutes of each other? I wonder if it counts the merged post as two or as one.

Testing ...

Aha, it counts the merged post as one. Okay, then.

Well, I *was*... ;)

And with that, I've reached the magic 20,000. I *was* wondering if I could restrain myself enough so that I could hit the 20,000 mark on Friday, which happens to be my 40th birthday, but whatever.
