FWIW, the Memory Alpha (i.e. Star Trek wiki) entry on 'Klingon opera', with references to the TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT episodes that allude to it. I believe the following clip, from the TNG episode 'Unification II' (Nov 1991), was the first such allusion:
Incidentally, that episode is also noteworthy for marking the last time that Leonard Nimoy played Spock ... until the J.J. Abrams movie came out almost 18 years later.
