I'm just glad to see them using my preferred spelling. I'm frequently told to spell it "gray," and I just like "grey" better.

And rumor has it that in addition to playing one of the human characters, Liam Neeson will also be providing the somber, philosophizing English-speaking voice of one of the wolves. Oops...I guess I guess I'm confusing this with the Narnia film series.

Well the rumors really are flying then, because I heard one of the wolves get kidnapped by corrupt French politicians who make it strip in a rich mansion with peep windows, and Neeson has to tear down an iron steam pipe which has four flange bolts only supporting 195 lbs each, and he just happens to be 200... oh, waitasec, I was thinking of Taken.

Here's how I see the pitch to producers.

Producer: Watcha got for me?

Carnahan: OK, so it's Flight of the Phoenix crossed with The Edge, only we'll have hungry wolves instead of a hungry bear, who want to chow down on the guys from Armegeddon, except we can't afford Bruce Willis, so we'll cast it and set the location more like The Way Back... you know, respected actors that won't break the bank, and in the snow instead of space.


I think I'll skip this and by a copy of Never Cry Wolf.

FWIW, I had assumed that that was Jeff's reason, too. (BTW, does this mean American editions of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings have resisted Americanizing those books?)

Yes! It does!

I also love that spelling for Gandalf ... but the connection to my own name provided an extra reason.
