We're hoping for February 1 or as close to it as possible.

If we have to have some film pages up without blurbs, so be it, but we'd like to be as complete as possible.

SDG, shall I put you down for the Blubbing Camel? If not, no worries.

Ah. February 1 is soon. I don't want to overpromise. I'm dead overbooked till the end of January and have high hopes that February will be a time of tranquility in which I will bang out little requests like these, but I'm sure I can keep you happier with the timeliness of two than three, so, I regretfully pass on the Blubbing Bactrian.

  • Double Life of Veronique, The (1991)
  • Make Way for Tomorrow (1937)

Three (3) films left.

But let's get these last three assigned!

Only three films still need to be blurbed for the Top 100 list:

Nights of Cabiria (1957)

Places in the Heart (1984)

Rules of the Game, The (1939)

Please help.

Thanks.

I'll do PLACES IN THE HEART.

Haven't seen either of the other two--sorry!

I'll take Nights of Cabiria and Rules of the Game.

Oh, wait. Does it matter if I didn't vote?

Yes it matters, it matters to this community. WHY didn't you vote?!

IMO, you can write whatever blurb is desired, but we missed your voice on the vote.

You deserve to be stuck with The Rules of the Game. ;)

Honestly, stefbo, I didn't know voting was open. My visits have been irregular. And if I'm not excluded by my nonvoting, I'll do whatever I can to reverse your decade-long aversion to Renoir's bringing of the awesome.

Thanks, BethR and Russ. And no, it doesn't matter whether you voted. Anyone who knows a film who's a member of this community can write about that film.

That covers all the new films.

You guys are the best.

Also, if any of you who have taken films to blurb have any questions about what's expected, just PM me.

The rule of thumb is: 3-5 paragraphs. Attempting to cover the basics of plot, a bit about cinematography, and a wee insight into the meaning of the thing.

PLEASE try to complete your assignments by February 1. This will enable us to allow the media to a a completed site when we go public. Which would be utterly cool.

Thx again.

I hereby challenge you to create one sentence in your blurb which includes the words "bringing" and "awesome." They don't have to be consecutive, but must occur in that order.

If we can expand the list to be The Top 101, I'll take Raiders of the Lost Ark. ;)

No more expanding! I mean it!

Although....The Top 101 does have a nice ring to it...

Just joking. Maybe.

We are hoping to go public with both the Top 100 list and the Top 25 Horror Films list on February 7, approximately 3 weeks before the Oscars.

The deadline for Top 100 blurbs and short horror film descriptions is February 4.

PLEASE please please try to make this deadline.

It will enable us to meet the PR deadline and make the most of the run-up to the Oscars.

Top 100 blurbs go to me via PM or e-mail.

Top 25 descriptions go to Anna.

THANKS!!!

I'll re-watch Paths of Glory and finish the write-up for it tonight.

Thanks to those who have turned in their blurbs by the deadline.

Now I need the rest.

Please send Top 100 (not the Horror 25) via pm or e-mail to me.

We've got a lot of work to do in a very short amount of time.

Thanks, guys.

Whoops. I had the deadline written down as 2/4 for some reason. Switching gears...
