He's fictional, but you can't have everything.

The American Society of Cinematographers has chimed in with the nominees for THEIR awards:

  • Guillaume Schiffman, The Artist
  • Jeff Cronenweth, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
  • Robert Richardson, Hugo
  • Hoyte van Hoytema, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
  • Emmanuel Lubezki, The Tree Of Life
The winner will be announced February 12, or almost exactly halfway between the announcement of the Oscar nominations and the announcement of the Oscar winner.

Kris Tapley reports that Richardson has never won the ASC award. Strange.

Vote!

And note how, where the guild went with Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, the Academy went with War Horse.
