Hmmm, not quite, I would have thought, but if you want to merge this with that other thread, I wouldn't complain ...

Link to Frappr thread and the A&F Frapper page.

Strange that the map should list Surrey, BC but not Vancouver, BC.

I realized that there was a "Google Maps" thread. But the one that I put up yesterday was Google Maps at STREET LEVEL.

FWIW, BBB, the thread you started was headlined "Googl [sic] Maps" -- full stop -- and it was only in the subhead, which the search engine doesn't see, that you mentioned Street View.

Anyway, link to Street View.

Google Zooms In Too Close for Some
Ms. Kalin-Casey, who manages an apartment building here with her husband, John Casey, was a bit shaken when she tried a new feature in Google's map service called Street View. She typed in her address and the screen showed a street-level view of her building. As she zoomed in, she could see Monty, her cat, sitting on a perch in the living room window of her second-floor apartment.

Alan,

It's not a biggie. Link it from here to there from there to here, I don't care. I just thought it was interesting that Google was now doing something at this level and my buddy commented about it being "Big Brother." That does seem kinda scary. Yes?

A coworker of mine saw a photo of me driving near our office on Google Maps Street View. (You have to manually select Street View.)

I'm in the old white Toyota pickup.

Has anyone else seen themselves on Google Maps?

That is very cool. And scary.

FWIW, I don't see any white pickups at that spot any more. Has Google updated the images for this neighbourhood in the past 2.5 years, then?

Google Maps Quest might be the best April Fool's Day thing I've ever seen, although I grew up playing those kinds of games, so I'm biased.

This site has a list of interesting spots and easter eggs.

This Tumblr has more.
