Here's the lineup.

I haven't heard of three of the films in the Lead Actress category. How refreshing.

Yeah, but why have I heard of all but one of the directors, actors and actresses?

The nominations for this year

Highlights (from my pov):
Little Miss Sunshine gets a load
So does Half Nelson (which I'll be rewatching today to see if it clicks this time)
Guide to Identifying Your Saints has a couple well deserved nods
Brothers of the Head for cinematography
A Lion in the House makes the cut in docs

I was wondering why you hadn't mentioned this earlier, Darrel. smile.gif And actually, I count two nominations for the film.

Does anybody here belong to Film Independent? Actually it looks like a decent deal (at least living around here). Screenings, 3 months of Netflix, and an award to vote on for <$100/year.

LA Times is less than thrilled with the organization's tax exempt status.

I don't have cable but have learned to "follow" these events via Twitter, where the movie bloggers (tweeters) post live reactions as the awards are announced.

EDIT: Just checked my Twitter feed and laughed several times as I read some of host Seth Rogen's quips. Guy's good!
